<p style="text-align: justify;">The plate heat exchanger (PHE) is a specialized design well suited to transferring heat between medium- and low-pressure fluids. Welded, semi-welded, and brazed heat exchangers are used for heat exchange between high-pressure fluids or where a more compact product is required. One of the most often used forms of heat exchangers nowadays is the plate heat exchanger, followed by the shell and tube heat exchanger.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In comparison to the other two forms of the heat exchanger, the spiral heat exchanger sees less use in industrial settings. Because they are effective, durable, and generally simple to maintain, plate heat exchangers have found broad usage in engineering.</p>

			<p style="text-align: justify;">We&#8217;ll assume for the duration of this essay that a plate heat exchanger has two flowing mediums, one of which is cold and the other of which is hot. The cold medium must cool the hot medium, and the <a href="https://youtu.be/CyzBWQNr170" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>plate heat exchanger</strong> </a>will do this.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Through the hot medium intake, the hot medium enters the heat exchanger. The heated medium is guided by gaskets as it passes through the heat exchanger. An alternate gasket design is present on each plate. The heated medium flows into the gap between a pair of plates, but because of the gaskets, it does not flow into the space between the next set of plates. Each subsequent set of plates is loaded with the hot-flowing liquid as the process proceeds.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The cold medium enters the heat exchanger simultaneously through the cold medium input, but this time, the gaskets are set up to enable the cold medium to flow into the area where the hot medium is not present. There are now both hot and cold-flowing media inside the heat exchanger. Each medium exits from the outlet that is connected to it, and the process is ongoing.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">You&#8217;ll see that throughout the heat exchanger, the two flowing mediums are constantly close to one another. Thus, when the flowing media pass through the heat exchanger, they flow in a hot, cold, hot, cold pattern. Both flowing mediums are completely separated from each other by the gaskets and plates, they do not mix.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Heat is transferred between the flowing materials as a result of their near contact. The hot medium heats up the plate, which then transfers part of that heat to the cold medium. As a result, the heated medium cools down while the cold medium warms up.</p>
